Кафедра кардиологии и внутренних болезней учреждения образования «Белорусский государственный медицинский университет» была организована 27 августа 2008 года. Необходимость прогрессивного развития системы медицинского образования, понимание потребности формирования у выпускников вуза навыков быстрого и профессионального реагирования в экстренных ситуациях, изучения неотложной кардиологии, освоения современных методов диагностики и лечения послужили основанием для принятия положительного решения и поддержки идеологии доктора медицинских наук, профессора Н.П. Митьковской о создании новой прогрессивной молодой кафедры отделением медицинских наук НАН Беларуси, Министерством здравоохранения Республики Беларусь и ведущими кардиологами страны - доктором медицинских наук, профессором, академиком НАН Беларуси Г.И. Сидоренко, доктором медицинских наук, профессором, академиком НАН Беларуси А.Г. Мрочеком, докторомм едицинских наук, профессором, член-корреспондентом НАН Беларуси В.А. Снежицким.
The Department of Cardiology and Internal Diseases of the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" was organized on August 27, 2008.
